Product information and photography

Are the marble, MicroSkin and StoneSkin patterns always the same as in the photo?

  • Marble: of our marbles it is sometimes possible that the drawing of the marbles differs slightly from the drawing and photo on the website because it is a natural material.

  • MicroSkin: It is a handmade product, so the drawings in the microskin products may not always be the same. This is because 9 layers of microskin are used.

  • StoneSkin: Just like with MicroSkin, StoneSkin also uses a material that is painted on the products. As a result, the drawings may sometimes differ slightly

Do you make custom furniture?

  • Unfortunately, we do not make custom furniture.
  • We do offer customizable bathroom furniture sets. These always consist of a bathroom cabinet (base cabinet), a washbasin and a sink and are always based on the latest trends.

Maintenance

Use Marble (in the bathroom)

  • Marble is a porous stone and therefore sensitive to fats, acids and temperature. The stone therefore easily absorbs liquids and you must protect it against this. All our marble products are already treated against grease and stains with an anti-grease layer. This makes it more difficult for fats and liquids to penetrate into the natural stone. The protective layer fades during use and you therefore have to treat the marble again. For optimal protection, we recommend repeating this treatment twice a year. You can find products for this at any DIY store.
    • Furnified happily recommends Akemi Anti Stain Pearl Impregnator, a high-quality impregnation with excellent stain protection and a pronounced water-repellent effect. Its protective effect starts after 10 to 20 minutes.

This product can be ordered easily and safely online via this link . You will also find some extra tips and the technical sheet here.

  • Before placing the protective layer, you should always clean the stone with water. It is then best to let it dry and then you can place the protective layer. The protection helps to absorb splashes and grease stains, but this does not help against cold or heat.
  • Read more about marble maintenance at our blog page about marble .
  • Important, before you start the treatment, always test on a less visible spot to evaluate the effect before proceeding with the entire treatment of your marble furniture.

Use Travertine

Travertine, with its characteristic warm color tones, is a beautiful natural material that is often used for furniture. To preserve and protect the natural beauty of travertine, it is essential to apply proper treatment and maintenance measures. Here we explain how to care for your travertine furniture, with special attention to the use of Akemi's Anti-Stain Pearl Impregnator. You will find this one on the Akemi website.
Step 1: Cleaning Travertine Furniture
Before you start the treatment, it is important to thoroughly clean your travertine furniture. Use a soft brush or cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners as they can scratch the surface.
Step 2: Application of Anti-Stain Pearl Impregnator
Akemi's Anti-Stain Pearl Impregnator is a high-quality impregnating solution specifically designed to protect travertine from stains and damage. Here's how to apply the product:
  1. Shake well:Shake the bottle thoroughly to ensure that the ingredients are well mixed.

  2. Test on a small area:Apply a small amount of the impregnating agent to an inconspicuous part of the furniture to check that no adverse reactions occur.

  3. Application:Apply the Anti-Stain Pearl Impregnator evenly to the surface of the travertine with a clean cloth or sponge. Make sure the entire surface is well covered.

  4. Soaking time:Allow the product for the recommended soaking time as indicated on the product instructions.

  5. Remove excess product:Wipe off excess impregnating agent before it dries completely.

Step 3: Regular Maintenance
To maintain protection, regular maintenance is crucial:
  • Gentle cleaning:Clean the surface regularly with a mild detergent and a soft cloth to remove dirt and stains.

  • Avoid abrasive materials:Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard brushes as these can damage the protective layer.

  • Repeat treatment:Depending on use and exposure to elements, consider repeating the treatment with Anti-Stain Pearl Impregnator every few months.

With proper care and regular maintenance, you can preserve the natural beauty of travertine furniture.

Use Terrazzo

The terrazzo table top is still untreated. We recommend washing it off and feeding it with green soap. Regular maintenance of the terrazzo top with this type of soap will leave a trace of soap behind with every cleaning, creating a protective layer. Regular means once a week for a new magazine and later once a month.

It is also recommended to treat the top with wax for natural stone 3 to 4 times a year. This provides an extra protective layer and a gloss layer.Terrazzo consists of calcareous stones, which means it cannot withstand acids.

It is therefore very important not to use aggressive cleaning agents. You should also pay attention to other acids such as oranges, lemons, wine, etc.

Use leather

  • The leather was minimally treated for the first time against stains and grease, but aniline leather remains subject to air and sunlight, because it is colored in the pores.
  • You also protect the leather itself extra against stains and grease. You do this by rubbing it evenly with a colorless leather treatment 2 to 3 times a year. You can easily find these products online or in DIY stores.
  • Please note: the treatment preserves the suppleness of the leather and reduces fat absorption by the leather, but does not restore color.
  • As with all 100% leather products, signs of wear will appear over time that will give the leather a more lived-in look. This color evolution is characteristic of aniline leather.
